Aquarian
 Yoko Ono, musician and artist, was for many years married to John
Lennon - until his murder in 1981. An innovatory Aquarian, Ono
was born on February 18 1933 in Tokyo, Japan. She has always been
avant-garde in her work - and these days the seventy-three year
old happily uses the internet and iTunes to showcase her music.
With
Saturn and Venus, as well as the Sun, in originality-mad Aquarius,
she has said, 'Quite often, people think what's in my head is controversial,
but to me it's quite normal.'
The democratic Aquarian experienced
a very mixed childhood - extreme poverty during the second world
war, and living in a very upmarket, wealthy environment before
and after that period.
In 1961 she took part in her first big performance
of experimental music
and performance art. With Moon in exploratative, ingenious Sagittarius,
she has always dared to be bold in her work - and her lifestyle.
After two early marriages, she fell for John Lennon, also considered
a great eccentric.
Like most Aquarians, Ono values the life of the
mind above most other things. She and John were drawn to one another's
intellects first - then the rest followed in this famous love affair
with its bed-ins and quest for world peace.
Pioneering Aquarian
Ono released her first solo album in 1970, which some punk bands
believe laid the foundations for punk.
For her early art-work 'Cut Piece', she sat on stage and asked
the audience to use scissors to cut off bits of her clothes till
she was naked.
Always Aquarian-style keen on technology, Yoko has
also had the sign's tendency to rebel against pleasing or kowtowing
to the public.
These days she is much respected and with her hardworking
perfectionist Mars in Virgo next to bouncy Jupiter may stay prolific
workwise - performing, as well as creating music.
Having received
major accolades and awards in recent years, her album, 'Yes, I'm
a witch', contains remixes and covers from her back catalogue by
various artists.
With Venus Aquarius, Ono has original views on
relationships - Lennon was a very early house-husband, caring full-time
for their son Sean from 1975 onwards.
Libra Sean has the same birthday
as John (October 15) - such repetitions of dates and signs are
quite common in families.
