Written for Teletext: WHAT THE STARS SAY ABOUT - an Aquarius (genius or eccentric?)
Robbie
Williams was born on 13 February 1974 in Stoke on Trent, Staffs.
The quirky megastar's recent single, Rudebox, had mixed reviews
- in fact one critic called this title track from his new studio
album 'worst song ever'.
Aquarians like Robbie can inspire extreme
reactions - he ranked in both a '100 greatest Britons' poll and
a '100 worst Britons' poll in the same year (2002).
In the early
1990s Robbie had eight UK number one singles with the boy band
Take That.
With Sun and Jupiter in ahead-of-the-times Aquarius Robbie is a
trend-setter
- Take That inspired a crop of similar UK bands. When Robbie went
solo, he was (as Aquarians can be) way-out at times, for instance
in the 2000 video of his single Rock DJ.
In this, the controversial
star 'stripped off' not just his clothes but his skin and flesh,
right down to his skeleton - extremist, like his Scorpio Moon.
This deep-feeling Moon may contribute to his depressive streak,
and his Mars in Taurus can go over the top - hence, partly, his
drug and weight problems.
As well as Robbie's fascination with sports
(partly due to his Neptune in athletic Sagittarius) he is into
the paranormal. With Mercury in Pisces he is quite psychic, and
with Uranus writ large in his chart he longs to be astonished by
life.
Some Aquarians are exhibitionists, others dread being noticed
- complex Robbie has both traits, saying he hates live performing
(though he must often do it). He frequently dislikes talking to
journalists about himself as an artist, is bored and unforthcoming.
At other times he makes instant
friendships (typically Aquarian) - telling one interviewer he reckoned
he'd known them in a previous life. With Venus Capricorn, Robbie
takes his art very seriously and complains if people don't realise
he writes his own songs.
Sometimes world-weary, he once told an
interviewer he'd die before he was thirty - in fact he'll probably
make old bones, like many Capricorn types!
Robbie has said that if his music hadn't taken off, he would have
become a 'holistic man of medicine and spirituality'...
This would
be in keeping with his Aquarius/Pisces/Scorpio deep nature, and
he could in fact go this way some time soonish - and his canny
Venus Capricorn will ensure his earnings last a long time if he
decides to go into (semi?)-retirement.
Though Robbie sometimes declares
'I need a woman', he is so choosy (and also so independent and
such a one-off), that a serious marriage-style relationship is
unlikely.
