Written for Teletext: - A solid Virgo?
Hugh
Grant was born on September 9, 1960 in London, a hardworking Virgo
with a persistent Taurean Moon. With Mars in Gemini, Hugh can act
many different parts, often favouring comedy.
The Four Weddings and a
Funeral star says his foppish haircut, which he sported in that
and later films, was meant to make him look deeply unattractive
- the low-key Virgo was amazed when his cut became a style and
status symbol.
Hugh's chart, with its graceful Venus in Libra,
makes him essentially a 'non-macho', arty type of personality.
He has criticised childhood photos of himself, where he says he
looks like 'a little poser', adding, 'I wish I'd been a bit more
brutal'.
Hugh, a Virgo who likes continuity in his life, has Venus
in Libra, so his love life is very important to him - he functions
best with a partner, tries to make romances go smoothly, and tends
to have rather long-term relationships. He was dating Elizabeth
Hurley from 1987 and as he was becoming better known she gained
her own type of fame. This first happened when, accompanying Hugh,
she appeared in public in an outrageous designer dress, scantily
held together by large safety pins.
Hugh is a matter-of-fact, un-ego-laden
Virgoan, saying that early in his career he just 'grabbed' any
roles he could get. These included a part in a Ken Russell horror
cheapie called The Lair of the White Worm.
In 1995, Hugh was arrested
in a car near Sunset Boulevard in Hollywood - caught receiving
oral sex from a prostitute called Divine Brown. The episode was
widely covered in the newspapers (and discriminating Virgo Hugh
has often badmouthed the inaccuracies of the sensationalist tabloids).
It
was clearly excruciatingly embarrassing for this often discreet
Virgo with refined Venus in Libra - however, girlfriend Hurley
forgave him and they remained a couple for several years. With
his often charming Venus in Libra, Hugh can chat to interviewers
with laconic tongue-in-cheek humour.
His sometimes slightly 'washed-out'
and faded good looks are typical of the Virgo-Libra streak in his
horoscope, as is his slight tendency to slouch.
With Jupiter in Sagittarius, Hugh is sporty - he likes golf and
played cricket when young - and, with a Sagi-style mind full of
ideas, he often threatens to retire from acting. However, as a
Virgo-Taurus type, he likes the continuity of a career where he
has already safely 'made it' - he will probably star in around
seven more films, in both comic and straight roles.
Having recently
split from girlfriend Jemima Khan, his next big involvement may
well be with another rather high profile woman. Marriage will probably
eventually appeal to this rather cautious earth sign type - he
wants stability but has always hesitated to tie the knot.
